The stage of Italian wine tourism
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May Cantine Aperte [Open Wineries] returns with a completely renewed edition.
The historic event – created by the Movimento Turismo del Vino which today brings together more than 700 Italian wineries – in addition to the traditional welcome will become, starting from this 2025 edition, a moment in which the wineries will launch new hospitality experiences. A true international stage, where each winery will present its own WINE EXPERIENCE proposals.
Experiential Tourism Trends
Today more than ever, tourists dedicate part of their interest to the food and wine sector, looking for much more than a simple tasting.
For European tourists, food and wine are a stable presence, together with nature and culture, among the most desired experiences. In the intentions of European citizens, these proposals weigh respectively 15.3% for food and wine, 16.6% for nature and 14.7% for culture (Source: European Travel Commission).
Experience and Involvement
This year, wineries will therefore respond with increasingly rich proposals, to satisfy even the most demanding requests of Italian and European tourists. In particular, their offer will focus on three aspects of the food and wine trend:
- Landscape and culture, with immersive itineraries among vineyards and local history, picnics in the vineyard and walks in the vineyard.
- Typical gastronomy, with authentic pairings of wine and traditional zero-mile flavors.
- Relaxation and fun, with experiences tailored to every kind of visitor.
The list of companies participating in this edition is very extensive – the complete list is visible on the page of the site dedicated to the event – which today totals around a hundred just only between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions. The events will offer heterogeneous experiences, including photographic exhibitions, live music, sensory paths, horseback riding, botanical paths, tastings paired with local products featured in menus described directly by the chefs.
From the province of Udine, in Caporiacco di Colloredo di Monte Albano, the Cantina RONCO PENASA, organizes a guided tasting with interesting pairings on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May.
In the property’s gastronomic area – in the Trattoria Da Vico in Piazza Primo maggio – the garden will host the presentation of three 2022 Ronco Penasa wines: the Chardonnay aged in American oak tonneaux, whose sweet and citrusy character is paired with some toast with Prosciutto Crudo di San Daniele, the Refosco dal peduncolo rosso, an elegant and fruity native to Friuli Venezia Giulia, paired with Culatello, and the exclusive passito Piccola Gió based on Picolit wine combined with dry corn biscuits (polentins ™) made available thanks to the collaboration of the nearby Molino Persello.
